Self-Driving Cars: Where Will Responsibility Lie?

You may be aware that car manufacturers like Volvo are working towards the production of self-driving cars. One question that accompanies this initiative surrounds who will accept the blame in the case of accidents involving those self-driving vehicles. Well, as of today it seems likely that the manufacturers will be the ones to assume responsibility.

As stated in a Car and Driver article published earlier, "[Volvo] CEO Håkan Samuelsson told a small crowd that the automaker would “accept full liability” whenever its cars are involved in accidents—presumably when they’re at fault—and engaged in autonomous mode."
